The caramel semolina cake is a delicious dessert made from fine wheat semolina, boiled in sweet milk. It can be garnished with jam, candied fruits, raisins, or spices. We propose you a tasty recipe of caramel semolina cake to be prepared very easily.
INGREDIENTS
1 L of milk
150 g powdered sugar
125 g of fine wheat semolina
10 cl of liquid caramel
2 whole eggs
1 sachet of vanilla sugar
1 pinch of salt
1 knob of butter for the mold
PREPARATION
1. 1. Preheat the furnace to 180°C (thermostat 6).
2. In a saucepan, bring the milk to a boil with powdered sugar and a pinch of salt. At the first broth, pour the fine wheat semolina into the pan and cook for 10 minutes, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.
3. At the end of this time, remove the pan from the heat and add the eggs one by one. Sprinkle with vanilla sugar. Mix well until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous paste. Butter a cake tin. Pour the liquid caramel into the bottom of the pan and spread it evenly over the sides. Then pour the semolina preparation on top of the caramel.
4. Bake and cook the caramel semolina cake for 25 minutes. Check the cooking with the tip of a knife. It should come out clean and dry when the caramel semolina cake is cooked. Remove the caramel semolina cake from the oven and place it on a serving dish.
5. Let it cool to room temperature and store in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Enjoy the cold caramel semolina cake with a small fruit salad for dessert.
