Most people think of apple pie as a dessert, and it does make a delicious dessert. However, if you want to eat apple pie for breakfast or lunch, you might want to try this recipe! It's an easy and healthy alternative that tastes great.

How To Make Baked Apple Pie

Ingredients

-2 cups sugar (You can reduce this by ½ cup if you are looking to limit your sugar consumption. I don't recommend this unless you're diabetic.)

-2 cups of flour (You can substitute with 1 cup of whole wheat flour and it will still taste good!)

-3 large apples (I used Fuji)

-5 Tablespoon of butter, cut into pieces.(You can reduce this by half if you are looking to limit your fat consumption.)

-⅔ cup water(This can be omitted if desired, but the pie won't come out as flaky. It will still taste good though.)

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a baking sheet.

2. In a large bowl, stir the sugar and flour together until blended; cut in the butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3. Peel and slice apples, then add them to the crumb mixture, stirring to coat well with the crumbs (If you don't have a food processor, you can use a fork to cut your butter into small pieces) .

4. Add ⅔ cup water in order for your pie crust dough to come together. ((It doesn't matter if there are some dry parts near the bottom of your bowl. Ignore them and continue mixing.))

5. Divide the pie dough into two equal parts, then form each part into a 9 inch round on the greased baking sheet.

6.leave it in the oven until golden brown. (If you want to add a little more flaky pie crust, you can try adding another 2 Tablespoons of water as instructed earlier.
