What is magic chocoflan

"Magic Chocoflan" is a dessert dish that combines two popular desserts, chocolate cake, and flan, into one. It is typically made by layering a chocolate cake batter on top of a caramel flan mixture and then baking until set. The result is a rich, decadent dessert with a creamy, caramel center and a moist, chocolate cake layer on top.

Here are a few tips for making a perfect chocoflan:

Use high-quality ingredients: For best results, use high-quality chocolate, eggs, and evaporated milk.

Mix the flan and cake batter separately: It's important to mix the flan and cake batter separately to ensure that the layers don't mix.

Pour the flan mixture first: Start by pouring the flan mixture into the bottom of the pan, and then gently pour the chocolate cake batter over it.

Bake at a low temperature: Baking the chocoflan at a low temperature, such as 325°F (165°C), will help prevent the cake from becoming too dry and the flan from becoming too rubbery.

Let it cool before removing it from the pan: After baking, let the chocoflan cool for at least 30 minutes before attempting to remove it from the pan. This will help ensure that the flan layer sets properly and doesn't fall apart.

Serve with a caramel sauce: Serve the chocoflan with a drizzle of caramel sauce to enhance its flavors.

There are several variations of chocoflan, here are a few:

Chocolate swirl chocoflan: To make a chocolate swirl chocoflan, swirl melted chocolate into the flan mixture before baking.

Chocolate chip chocoflan: To make a chocolate chip chocoflan, add chocolate chips to the cake batter.

Coffee chocoflan: To make a coffee-flavored chocoflan, add a shot of espresso or coffee to the cake batter.

Coconut chocoflan: To make a coconut chocoflan, add coconut milk to the flan mixture and coconut flakes to the cake batter.

Nutella chocoflan: To make a Nutella chocoflan, add a layer of Nutella spread between the cake batter and the flan mixture.

These variations add different flavors and textures to the classic chocoflan recipe, making it a versatile and customizable dessert.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 package of chocolate cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).

In a small saucepan, heat the sugar and water over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Pour the mixture into a 9-inch (23 cm) round cake pan and let it cool.

In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, eggs, evaporated milk, whole milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Pour the cake batter over the caramel mixture into the cake pan.

Place the cake pan inside a larger pan, such as a roasting pan. Fill the larger pan with enough hot water to come about halfway up the sides of the cake pan.

Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the cake is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove the cake pan from the water bath and let it cool for 10 minutes.

Run a knife around the edges of the cake pan to loosen the flan cake. Place a serving platter on top of the cake pan and flip it over to release the cake onto the platter.

Serve warm, garnished with fresh fruit or a drizzle of chocolate syrup, if desired.

Enjoy your delicious chocolate flan cake!
