PRO TIPS FOR MAKING THIS RECIPE

Use a dry cake: For the best results, use a cake that is dry and not too moist, such as a pound cake or angel food cake. These types of cakes hold together better and are easier to work with.

Add the right amount of frosting: Too little frosting will result in dry and crumbly cake balls, while too much frosting will make the cake balls heavy and difficult to coat. Aim for a mixture that is moist but still holds its shape when rolled into balls.

Chill the cake balls: Chilling the cake balls in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour will make them easier to handle and less likely to fall off the sticks when coated.

Melt the coating slowly: To prevent scorching or separating, melt the chocolate or candy melts slowly in a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler. Stir the coating frequently and remove it from the heat once it's fully melted.

Tap off the excess coating: To get a smooth, even coating, tap the stick gently on the side of the bowl after dipping the cake ball into the melted coating. This will help remove any excess coating and prevent drips.

Allow the coating to set completely: Place the cake pops in a styrofoam block or a cake pop stand to allow the coating to set completely. If the coating is still soft, the cake pops will be difficult to handle and will not look as smooth and glossy.

Ingredients:

  • 1 boxed cake mix, baked and cooled
  • 1 cup frosting
  • 1 bag of chocolate or candy melts
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Toppings (optional)

Instructions:

Deteriorate the cooled cutlet into a large mixing coliseum.

Add the frosting to the crumbled cake and mix until fully incorporated and the mixture holds together when squeezed.

Roll the cutlet admixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking distance lined with diploma paper.

Chill the cake balls in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour to firm up.

Melt the chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl or using a double boiler. Stir the melted coating until smooth.

Insert a lollipop stick into each cake ball, about halfway through. Dip the cake ball into the melted coating, making sure it's fully coated.

Tap off any excess coating and place the cake pop back on the parchment paper.

Decorate the cake pops with sprinkles, chopped nuts, or other toppings if desired.

Allow the coating to set completely, which can take anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes, depending on the room temperature.

Your cutlet pops are now ready to be served! Enjoy!
