If you've never had the pleasure of eating grilled chicken wings then this is your chance to enjoy one of summer's most beloved dishes. Grilling wings is easy and it doesn't even require an oven! Here are three simple steps to help you get started.

Grilled Chicken Wings

Ingredients

20 chicken wings

2 tablespoons olive oil, or more as needed

3 teaspoons garlic salt

3 teaspoons ground black pepper

Preparation

1. Coat with a thin, even layer of softened butter. This step ensures that the grill does not stick to the chicken or blacken them prematurely, which I'm sure you'd rather avoid! You can also use oil or seasoning salt for this step if desired- just make sure the mixture coats every nook and cranny of each wing before setting them on their rack on the grill.

2. Once all of the wings have been coated, place them on the grill with a thin layer of oil or seasoning salt between each wing so that they don't stick to one another.

3. Flip the wings after 10-15 minutes. If you feel that they are being too close to being done, you can always turn up your heat a bit and continue cooking for a few more minutes. But trust me, this will not be necessary!

4. You can serve your wings hot or warm. I like to serve them hot and paired with a side salad and some warm bread (bonus point for using 100% whole grain!)

Now grab your grill, brush up on your chicken wing techniques, grab a bottle of wine, and get ready to flip over those wings! Enjoy!
