If you are looking for a Southern-fried chicken thigh recipe, you are in luck! This is one of the best recipes I have found to make fried chicken.

Southern Fried Chicken Thigh

Ingredients

What You Will Need: For the chicken:

4 chicken thighs (boneless, skinless with the skin removed)

4 eggs

1 cup flour

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1 cup buttermilk

  For the Sauce:

2 cups ketchup

2 tablespoons yellow mustard

2 tablespoons chili powder

2 tablespoon cider vinegar

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon onion powder (we used white only)

Directions

To Make The Southern Fried Chicken Thighs: Whisk together eggs, flour, salt, and pepper. In a shallow dish, marinate the chicken thighs in the egg mixture. Place chicken thighs in flour and toss to coat. Heat buttermilk in a small saucepan (we used a small stainless steel bowl that worked great!). Heat oil to 375 degrees Fahrenheit in a high-sided frying pan or cast-iron skillet. Once the oil is hot, place flour-coated chicken thighs into the heated oil and fry until golden brown (coat once side of each thigh). Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.

To Prepare The Sauce: Heat ketchup, yellow mustard, chili powder, cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and onion powder together until warmed through. Serve hot over chicken thighs.

We thought the sauce was very flavorful and had a nice kick to it!
