Caramel Mango Dessert

Caramel Mango Dessert


2 cups canned sweetened mango slices, drained 

1/3 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup milk chocolate chips 

Vanilla ice cream, to serve (optional) 

Margarine, softened (optional) 

Caramel syrup, for drizzling (optional) 


1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.

2. Grease one 8x8-inch baking dish.

3. Pour mango slices into the dish, mix with sugar and pour in milk chocolate chips and coconut flakes on top. It is not necessary to stir these ingredients together, as they will melt and meld together in the oven anyway; however, to ensure that all of the chips are melted throughout the mixture, it may be helpful to stir them together by hand before pouring into the baking dish.

4. Using a spatula or spoon, spread the mixture in the baking dish.

5. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the top begins to turn a golden brown and the mixture is set.

6. Allow to cool for 15 minutes before serving; it may be necessary to remove some of the chips from the top of the pan once again as they may rise to the surface as it cools.

7. Serve with vanilla ice cream, if desired, and drizzle with caramel syrup if desired.
