Ham and Cheese Pinwheels

If you love the classic ham and cheese sandwich, why not make it like a pinwheel? These cheese-filled bites are easy to make, so they're perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. You can assemble them in minutes!

Ham and Cheese Pinwheels

- 8 slices of bread

- 4 ounces shredded cheese - pepper jack or mozzarella are great

- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter

- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard powder

- 2 teaspoons minced garlic *Dijon would be great too!* (optional)

- Salt and pepper, to taste *I used 1/4 teaspoon each*

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on one side of each slice of bread.

Top 4 slices with cheese, then top with remaining slices to form sandwiches. Cut each sandwich into quarters diagonally to form triangles. Press partially closed at the cut sides so that the filling doesn't fall out while baking.

In a small bowl, combine the remaining ingredients except for salt and pepper. Mix well and pour over the pinwheels. Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper to taste, then bake until golden brown, about 10 minutes.

Let sit 5 minutes before serving.
