Best Crispy Chicken Tenders

Everyone loves a fried chicken treat! But frying at home can be a bit tricky, and if you're not very experienced, it can also be scary (spilling grease on the floor and everything). Fear not: we've got your back. Here's our recipe for crispy chicken tenders — made with none other than Panko crumbs — that'll make you the king of home cooking!

Best Crispy Chicken Tenders

4 chicken breasts boneless skinless

1 cup buttermilk

1 teaspoon hot sauce

2 large eggs beaten

2 cups flour

2 1/2 teaspoons salt

3/4 teaspoon pepper

1/8 teaspoon paprika

1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

1/8 teaspoon baking powder

canola oil for frying

Begin by preparing 3 eggs and whisking them vigorously with milk (or water). Take some whole-wheat flour and use it to coat your tender pieces. Next, dip each piece of tender in this egg concoction. This will add some wholesome protein and is also a great way to add some color to your chicken.

From here on out, it's pretty much the same drill: dip each tender in Panko powder, and then in egg; then in Panko again (egg and crumbs together).

Finally, deep fry in hot oil (we like canola) until they go golden brown. It should only take about 3 minutes per side — no need to over-crowd the pot with too many tenders!

Serving: As we mentioned above, these chicken tenders are best served with a simple honey-mustard sauce. We like to pair ours with a side salad and some bread for dipping into that quintessential chicken-noodle-soup feel.
