This recipe for spaghetti sauce with ground beef is a tried-and-true one that you won't soon forget. The recipe starts with browning the beef, then cooking it down in the pot to create the base of our sauce.
Ingredients
1 lb. ground beef, 90% lean
1 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup diced celery (about 1 stalk)
4 medium carrots, peeled and sliced thinly on the diagonal (~ 1 cup)
1 tsp dried oregano (or 2 tbsp fresh oregano)
Directions
Set the cooker to low heat. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onion until well-done. Add garlic and chili powder, if using. Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil and salt, and pepper. Mix well and cook for at least 30 to 45 minutes (or as needed). Serve over spaghetti noodles or with your favorite pasta of choice!
Notes: You can substitute ground turkey if you prefer.
