Those who love their chocolate-like me, are going to love these Double Cheese Marbled Brownies. They're double the cheese and fudgy and rich, but not too rich. They have a subtle hint of salt that makes them the perfect match for a warm cup of milk or coffee after a day spent slaving away in front of your laptop. Not much more can be said about these brownies really; they're just that good.
Ingredients
A box black cocoa mix (1/2 c)
A can of condensed milk (14 oz. or 1 3/4 c)
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 lb. semi-sweet chocolate chips (use a mix; I used a combination of 60% and 50%)
2 tsp. vanilla extract
3/4 c. sugar (I use extra fine sugar)
optional: salt, to taste pinch sea salt
Directions
Cook time: 45 min. Total: 1 hr. 20 min.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine cocoa mix, condensed milk, and salt in a large bowl and whisk until smooth. Melt chocolate chips in microwave or double boiler; add cream cheese and vanilla extract to chocolate once melted, stirring until smooth. Add sugar and stir until dissolved.
Mix the melted chocolate mixture into dry ingredients slowly while folding with a spatula so as not to deflate the batter too much. Pour chocolate-chocolate chip mix over the top of the batter in the bowl and carefully fold together so that there are still brownie texture streaks of un-mixed batter throughout the marble (this is how you get that marble effect).
First of all, grease a frying pan and wrap it with butter paper. Pour batter into pan and bake 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs clinging to it. Let cool 5-10 minutes on a wire rack before cutting.
Enjoy!
