Garlic Shrimp {Hawaiian Style} Recipe

Ingredients

1 pound shrimp

peeled and cleaned 1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup pineapple juice

4 cloves garlic, chopped

4 teaspoons fresh ginger, minced hot pepper flakes to taste

Preparation

1. Boil shrimp in a pot of salted water for about 45-50 minutes until pink.  After the water boils, add in your garlic and ginger and simmer for about 20 more minutes (time varies depending on the size of your shrimp).

2. In a separate bowl, mix together the soy sauce and pineapple juice with equal parts of crushed red pepper according to taste.

3. Drain your water from the pot using a strainer and pour into an extra-large skillet or wok.  (NOTE: If you want to reduce your garlic flavor, now is the time to add it.)

4. Lay the shrimp out on a plate or cutting board and drizzle with sauce.  Then layout evenly throughout the skillet/wok.

5. Heat skillet/wok over medium heat and stir until shrimp is finished cooking (about 2-3 minutes).  If your pan is too hot, turn it down a little bit as not to burn your shrimp.

6. Serve with rice and garnish with your favorite sides.
