1/2 cup sourdough starter

1/2 cup warm water (100-110 degrees)

3 Tbsp. sugar

2 tsp. yeast (active or rapid rise yeast)

1 tsp. salt

Olive oil, for greasing the pans and brushing over the dough before baking

Directions

Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl and stir until a shaggy dough is formed. Let your dough sit for 15 minutes to an hour to allow the flour to absorb moisture.

Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl and stir until a shaggy dough is formed. Let your dough sit for 15 minutes to an hour to allow the flour to absorb moisture.

Heat your oven to 475 degrees and coat two loaf pans (or a medium-sized baking sheet that has been lightly greased) with oil. Punch down your dough and divide it between the loaf pans or baking sheets, depending on what size pizzas you would like to make. The texture of this bread is similar to that of ciabatta or baguette, so you can either shape your dough into a long rectangle and cut it into smaller squares or just punch out a bunch of rounds with your hands.

Brush the tops of your loaves with oil and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crusts are gold.

Flip the bread out onto a plate, pull out your favorite toppings like tomato sauce, cheese, meat, and vegetables and watch as they drip down into a delightful mess!

Fry up some tortilla chips while you wait for this wonderful bread to cool.

The fun doesn't stop there! Slice it up and serve on a big platter.

This bread is great served hot or cold as an appetizer and looks especially elegant with some fresh mozzarella cheese melted on top.

Enjoy!
